Louis Remmers, PT, received his undergraduate degree from the University of Southern Mississippi. He then went on to receive his physical therapy degree in 1976 from the University of Mississippi Medical Center. Lou founded Tupelo Physical Therapy in 1986.
Joe Elmer, PT, Cert. MDT, COMT, FAAOMPT, graduated from the University of New England in 1994 with a bachelor’s degree in physical therapy. In July 2003, he completed the post-graduate certification program in Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy through the McKenzie Institute, USA. In October 2005, he became a Certified Orthopedic Manual Therapist (COMT) through the Maitland Australian Physiotherapy Approach. In 2013, Joe became a fellow in the American Academy of Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapists after completing a residency, fellowship, and PhD year at the Ola Grimsby Institute. Joe was also certified by the MSBPT to perform Dry Needling in early 2013.
Sam McDuffie, DPT, OCS, Cert. DN, graduated from the University of Mississippi with a bachelor’s of science in exercise science in 2005. Sam attended graduate school at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center where he earned a doctor of physical therapy in May of 2008. In July of 2014, he became an Orthopedic Certified Specialist (OCS). He also became certified in Dry Needling (Cert. DN) in July of 2014.
Jason Vinson, DPT, graduated from Mississippi State University with a bachelor’s of science in exercise science in 2011. He then went on to graduate school at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center, earning his doctorate of physical therapy in May of 2014.
Gena Bailey, LPTA, graduated from North East Mississippi Community College with an associates of arts degree in paralegal in 1988. After 25 years as a paralegal and law office administrator, Gena returned to school and graduated with special honors from the physical therapy assistant program at Itawamba Community College with an associate of applied science degree in 2013. Gena has been with Tupelo Physical Therapy since June 2013.
Shawn Gardner, LPTA, received an associate of arts degree from Itawamba Community College in 2011. He went on to attend the two-year physical therapy assistant (PTA) program where he obtained his associates of applied science in 2013. Shawn has been with Tupelo Physical Therapy since September of 2013.
