Gotta Catch ‘Em All? Try these exercises before you go out Pokémon hunting! - July 14, 2016

Sore legs have become a pandemic for Pokémon Go users as their activity levels are spiking. Players are running around like never before trying to catch their Pikachus and are paying the price.

If you want to up your game, start this daily exercise program* to boost your endurance and reduce your risk for injury!

*Always consult with your physician prior to starting an unfamiliar exercise regimen

Exercise Program

Lateral Lunge
Begin in a standing upright position with your feet shoulder width apart and your arms resting at your side.
Step to the side with one leg, lowering your body into a lunge position, then carefully return to the starting position.
Make sure not to let your knees collapse inward during the exercise.

Half Kneeling Hip Flexor Stretch
Begin in a half kneeling position with one knee bent in front of your body.
Tighten your abdominals, tilt your pelvis backward, and gently push your hips forward. You should feel a stretch in the front of your hip.
Make sure to keep your hips facing forward and back straight during the exercise.

Calf Stretch
Begin in a standing upright position in front of a wall.
Place your hands on the wall and extend one leg straight backward, bending your front leg, until you feel a stretch in the calf of your back leg and hold.
Make sure to keep your heels on the ground and back knee straight during the stretch.
