Welcome to Beyond Therapy in Ridgeland, MS

The dynamic team at Beyond Therapy consists of a group of speech language pathologists, physical therapists and occupational therapists. Each are uniquely skilled in creating evidence-based therapy interventions that seem like play and are fun for children! We are the place where therapy meets play.

Our Team

Susannah Silvia, M.S., CCC-SLP
Clinical Director, Senior Therapist
Susannah received her BA in communication disorders from Louisiana State University in 2003 and her Master’s in Communication Disorders from LSU Health Science Center in 2005. Susannah uses varied visual and tactile cues such as sign language, PROMPT therapy, Picture Exchange Communication Systems (PECS) to make learning speech and language easier. Susannah is also trained in Talk Tools, Kaufman Speech Praxis System, and SOS feeding approach. Susannah has 3 children with her husband Josh and they reside in Madison, MS.

Jessica Rhaly, DPT
Jessica graduated from University of Mississippi in 2005 where she majored in Biology and minored in Chemistry. Jessica completed her Doctorate in Physical Therapy at The University of MS Medical Center in 2009. Immediately after graduation Jessica started working with pediatrics at Beyond Therapy and has been there ever since. She enjoys working with children of all ages from birth to teenagers. She provides skilled therapy in early intervention of developmental motor skills birth to 3 years old; Jessica also enjoys treating children with torticollis, limited bilateral coordination, poor balance, general weakness along with health and wellness, integration of primitive reflexes, orthopedic issues, parent education and much more. She resides in Gluckstadt, MS with her husband and two children.

Faith Harris, DPT
Faith is a 2018 graduate of the University of Mississippi with a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science. She graduated from The University of MS Medical Center in 2021 with a Doctorate of Physical Therapy degree. Faith enjoys working with children who have spina bifida, balance disorders, and gross motor delays; she enjoys assisting children in reaching their full potential to function independently. Faith resides in Pearl, MS where you can find her cheering on the Ole Miss Rebels or Atlanta Braves with her family.

Kayla Boyer, MOTR/L
Kayla graduated from The University of Mississippi with B.S.E.S in 2010 and from the University of Mississippi Medical Center with a Masters in Occupational Therapy in 2015. Kayla is certified in ASAP/ADOS testing for Autism Spectrum Disorder and enjoys working with children with Autism, Down Syndrome, sensory processing difficulties, and in early intervention (birth-3). She lives with husband Hunter and her two children, Brooks (4) and Mary Hunter (2) in Gluckstdat, MS.

Aubrey Stone OTR/L
Aubrey graduated from the University of Mississippi Medical Center in 2017 with a Masters Degree in Occupational Therapy. Aubrey enjoys working with sensory processing disorders as well as visual processing disorders. She resides in Flowood, Ms with her husband and daughter.

Lil Gowdey, M.S., CCC-SLP
Lil received her Bachelor’s Degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders from The University of Mississippi in 2017 and her Master’s Degree in Communicative Disorders from Jackson State University in 2019. Lil specializes in administering the Screening Tool for Autism in Toddlers (STAT) and Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule (ADOS); she also enjoys treating language disorders in early intervention ages. Lil live in Jackson with her husband, David, and their Golden Retriever, Kitty.

Bethany Gough, M.S., CCC-SLP
Bethany graduated from Mississippi University for Women in 2008 with a Bachelor of Science in Communicative Disorders and graduated from Jackson State University in 2010. Bethany enjoys working with pediatric feeding disorders, early language development, and articulation disorders. Bethany is certified in Prompt, Vital Stimulation, and the ADOS. She resides in Madison, Ms with her husband and 2 children, Preston and Ann Roark.

Melissa Newman, OTR/L
Melissa graduated from Mississippi State University in 1999 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Development and Family Studies with an emphasis in Child Life. She then earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Occupational Therapy from the University of Mississippi Medical Center in 2002. Melissa has worked exclusively with children in school based and outpatient settings throughout her career. She has experience treating children of all ages and diagnosis and enjoys being able to work closely with their families and teachers. Melissa is certified to administer the Screening Tool for Autism in Toddlers and Young Children (STAT). She is also trained in therapeutic listening, Brain Gym, sensory and reflex integration techniques, and numerous handwriting techniques including First Strokes and Handwriting without Tears. Melissa resides in Brandon with her husband Lee and children Greyson and Harper.

Mary Caroline Haynes, M.S., CCC-SLP
Caroline is a speech language pathologist who specializes in augmentative and alternative
communication (AAC), early intervention, autism, and apraxia of speech. She is currently LAMP certified; she is trained in Level One for Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS), the Screening Tool for Autism in Toddlers and Young Children (STAT), and in Dynamic Temporal and Tactile Cueing (DTTC). Caroline graduated from Mississippi State University with an undergraduate in Special Education and a minor in Spanish; she obtained her Master of Science degree in Communicative Disorders at Jackson State University. Caroline lives in Flora, MS with her husband, Chip, and their two children.

Amanda Watkins, MOTR/L
Amanda attended Mississippi State University for undergraduate studies before attending The
University of Mississippi Medical Center for her Masters of Occupational Therapy degree, graduating in 2017. She has a passion for providing OT services to children of all ages while supporting their families through education as they navigate the therapy world. Amanda is a native of Madison, MS, and currently lives there with her husband, 2 daughters, and 4 dogs.

Taylor Hilbun, M.S., CCC-SLP
Taylor graduated from the University of Mississippi in 2015 with a Bachelor of Science in Communicative Sciences and Disorders with a minor in Education. In 2017, she received her Master of Science in Communicative Disorders from Jackson State University. Taylor enjoys working with pediatric feeding and swallowing disorders, speech sound disorders, and childhood apraxia of speech. She has received training in Vital Stim, FEES, Beckmann Oral Motor, PROMPT, Kaufman, and DTTC.

Meg Edwards, OTR/L
Meg has a Bachelor of Science degree in psychology from The University of Mississippi and a
Bachelor of Science degree in Occupational Therapy from The University of Missouri. She has
worked in the field of pediatric occupational therapy for over 25 years and has vast experience
and training in treating children from all walks of life and with various conditions. Meg
specializes in treating pediatric feeding disorders, sensory processing disorder, and various
areas of coordination difficulties. She resides in Flowood and is the proud mama of three sons
and a daughter.

Kristen Owens, MOTR/L
Kristen graduated from University of Mississippi Medical Center in 2009 with a Master of Occupational Therapy. She enjoys working with all ages of pediatric patients and has special interest in the areas of feeding disorders, early intervention, handwriting delays for school-aged children, behavior and attention deficits, integration of primitive reflexes, sensory processing disorder, visual motor disorders, and hemiplegia/neurological disorders. Kristen has received furthering certifications in Handwriting Without Tears, Constraint-Induced Movement Therapy, SOS feeding treatment, Wilbarger sensory protocol, and The Alert Program. She resides in Jackson, MS with her husband and three children.

Rachel Divine, OTR/L
Rachel graduated from Mississippi State University in 2018 with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology. She recently graduated from The University of Mississippi Medical Center and received a Doctoral degree in Occupational Therapy. She loved her time at Beyond Therapy during her fieldwork rotation as a UMMC student and is excited to begin her career as an OT with our clinic! She enjoys working with sensory processing disorders, primitive reflex integration, and visual motor/perceptual disorders both in the clinic and within the school setting.

Elizabeth Enger, CCC-SLP
Liz graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Educational Psychology from Mississippi State University and a Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology from the University of Southern Mississippi. Liz loves having the special role of being a speech therapist to help equip children and their families with the important communication and feeding skills for a lifetime of success! In her spare time you can catch Liz relaxing in her hometown at the beach, reading a good book, in a Pilates class or cooking with her husband.

Massey Mitchell, OTR/L
Massey is a Madison, Ms native and a graduate from Mississippi State University with a Bachelor of Science degree. After graduating MSU, Massey received her Master’s Degree in Occupational Therapy at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in 2017. Massey enjoys treating patients of various ages presenting with handwriting difficulties, fine motor delay, sensory processing difficulties, and primitive reflex integration. Massey is certified in the Handwriting Without Tears curriculum as well as ADOS testing that is utilized to evaluate communication, social, and imaginative play skills in those suspected to have autism spectrum disorder. Massey currently lives in Flowood with her husband, two children and two dogs.

Emily Spring, M.S., CCC-SLP
Emily received her Bachelor degree in Communicative Sciences and Disorders from The
University of Mississippi in 2016. In 2018, Emily graduated from Jackson State University with a Master of Science in Communicative Disorders. Emily has training in the ADOS-2 (Autism
testing), STAT (Autism screening tool), and in PROMPT Technique. She resides in Madison, Ms with her husband, daughter, and Cavapoo.

 Dixie Priest, OTD, OTR/L

Dixie graduated from Mississippi State University in 2019 with her Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Education, Leadership and Communications minoring in both Business Administration and Leadership. She then received her Doctor of Occupational Therapy degree in 2021 from the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences. Dixie enjoys working with children of all ages and is passionate about the niche of Hippotherapy. Dixie also co-owns and runs Tyer Fencing and Farm Services LLC with her husband. In her spare time, Dixie enjoys spending time with her husband and little boy and riding horses.

Julie Sachman, MA CCC-SLP

Julie graduated from Indiana University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Speech and Hearing Sciences in 2002, and her Master of Arts degree in Speech-Language Pathology also from Indiana University, in 2004. Julie has worked in a variety of outpatient pediatric clinic settings throughout her career. She is a Hanen Certified Speech-Language Pathologist and has received trainings in the Kaufman Early Intervention Program, Introduction to PROMPT and Bridging PROMPT, It Takes Two to Talk: Hanen Program, Picture Exchange Communication System, Level 1 and Level 2, LAMP, and Orton Gillingham. She enjoys working with children who have speech sound disorders, childhood apraxia of speech, and autism. She lives in Flowood with her husband and daughter.
