DRAYER PHYSICAL THERAPY INSTITUTE OPENS OUTPATIENT CENTER SERVING STATE COLLEGE

A couple of former Penn State athletic standouts are helping Drayer Physical Therapy Institute open an outpatient physical therapy center serving State College.

The center, at 1019 Ghaner Road, Suite 200, Port Matilda, will host a public open house from 5:30 to 7 p.m. March 12.

Former swimmer Tasha Norman (nee Kulka) is the center manager in addition to her role as area manager. A native of Centre County, Norman is a graduate of State College High School and Schreyer Honors College at Penn State, where she majored in kinesiology. She earned a doctor of physical therapy degree from Duke.

Joining Norman on the staff is physical therapist Ian Shelley, who remains center manager for Drayer’s Lewistown clinic. Shelley competed in men’s gymnastics at Penn State, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in health education. He represented his native England in the 1992 Summer Olympics before pursuing a career in physical therapy.

The other treating physical therapist in State College is Julian Digilio, an Erie native who now lives in Huntingdon.

The center’s specialties are orthopedics, pediatrics, sports medicine, pre- and post-operative rehabilitation, neurological rehabilitation, manual therapy, weight management, and certified McKenzie spine therapy.

The center is open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. weekdays and from 7 a.m. to noon Saturday and can be reached at 814-954-7056.
